The Broadband in Kern County infrastructure map highlights broadband service offerings available to the citizens and businesses within Kern County. To prepare the map, participating broadband providers, local government, and economic development agencies worked together to identify the type and location of broadband services available . This map will be updated as new services and providers are found.

Kern E-Business Center
The Kern E-Business Center was established in October 2001 to service startup and early stage business with office space and technical assistance. Services provided by the E-business Center include: |
- Training: 3-4 hour workshops for business owners explaining the advantages and benefits of Internet and high-speed communication systems; additional workshops and hands-on consulting is provided to those business owners interested in implementing of these technologies,
- The E-Business Incubator, which offers a starting point for early-stage Internet-focused businesses. Available resources include:
- High speed Internet access - 512 KBPS.
- Inexpensive, furnished private offices, common conference room, telephone answering and as needed basic business services at a nominal cost.
- Business and technical assistance from the Small Business Development Center in handling startup and expansion challenges.
- On-site Center Administrator and Receptionist.
- Networking with fellow tenants, associates and business resources.
- Tenant financing.
